John married Hannah MASSEY, daughter of Living and Living, on 3 May 1885 in Great Budworth St. Mary. (Hannah MASSEY was born about 1858, died on 9 Mar 1888 in Leftwich, Cheshire and was buried on 13 Mar 1888 in Witton (Northwich) St. Helen.)

John also married Sarah Ellen SHARPES, daughter of George SHARPES and Living, about 1889. (Sarah Ellen SHARPES was born about 1865 in Barnton and died after 1901.)
